2. What services or products do you offer?
Custom flavored sugar cookies decorated with royal icing.
3. How long as the business been open?
December 2018
4. What inspired you to start your own business?
I’ve always had a love for baking all things sweet but it wasn’t until I had my kids that pushed me to show them leadership and going after something you love no matter how hard it may be.
5. What did you do to develop the skills to start/run your business?
Learning the skills to bake/ decorate took time, patience, practice and a lot of video watching. As far as running a business it’s all been trial and error for me as I’m so new to it all.
6. Share with us one of your biggest success to date?
My biggest success to date would be my Valentines sale, I baked and sold around 300 cookies in 2 days!
7. Share with us one of your biggest challenges to date?
My biggest challenge would have to be how hard I critic myself. I tend to forget I’m new at this and not everything can be perfect.
8. What is the nicest thing a customer has said about your business?
During Christmas time I had a customer reach out and explain that a coworker had just lost her mom and the cookies made her cry happy tears because they reminded her so much of when she’d bake with her mom. It was a blessing knowing I made that woman smile in such a dark time.
9. Who inspires you to keep going?
The person who inspires me most is my son, he suffers from severe food allergies and auto immune diseases. Through all of the pain and suffering he shows me what it’s like to be strong and fight no matter how hard things are.
10. What advice do you have for someone who wants to start their own business?
No matter how scary it may seem or how challenging it is, GO FOR IT! You’ll never know the outcome unless you try.
